The Pilates Method
The Pilates Method is a system of movement born of the German body genius Joseph H. Pilates back in 1930. By designing and using specialized equipment based off spring resistance Pilates was able to introduce the balance of strength and flexibility into one's body. In addition the Method promotes; circulation, proper body alignment, coordination, heightened awareness, vitality and happiness into one's life. Due to all of these benefits Pilates exercises and principles can prevent injury, reduce re-injury and lessen chronic pain. This "star" method has evolved over the last eighty years and continues to develop and change peoples lives.
Private sessions are a wonderful way to get full attention and feedback for your body. All sessions incorporate the classic pilates equipment; the Pilates Reformer and the Pilates Low Chair. Sessions can be done 1-2x per week or 1-2x per month. depending on the individuals needs and goals.
All privates are held at The Cottage- my private home studio in the Kenwood neighborhood between Lake of the Isles and Cedar Lake.

Pilates Mat classes are a fun and challenging way to experience The Pilates Method. The mat repertoire consists of 45+ different exercises that will challenge the smaller more refined muscles of your body, along with breath, and rhythm. This class is heated to ensure a good cleansing of the body's toxins. Be prepared to sweat, move, and learn!
